GRAPHIC VIDEO: Mexican cartel at border preps to incinerate victims’ hacked bodies, plays soccer with head

(BREITBART) — MATAMOROS, Tamaulipas — A leaked video obtained by the Breitbart Texas shows a crew of Gulf Cartel gunmen preparing to incinerate dozens of murdered victims. They are also seen playing soccer with a human head.

The incineration of victims is a long standing practice that allows the criminal organization to avoid scrutiny as well as help Mexican government officials continue to claim low crime statistics.

In the leaked video, a man holding a cell phone claims to be part of the Gulf Cartel and that the group is cooking “rats” or rivals members. The man appears to be holding a beer on the other hand as he narrates in Spanish the fate of their rivals.

In the background of the video, various other cartel members can be seen punching holes in 55-gallon drums and placing rocks and body parts inside. One of the men then asks for a “spark” referring to a lighter. The man with the cell phone then begins to kick the head of one of a murder victim as if it were a soccer ball. Another is heard stating that in a village, Los Zetas members had played soccer with the severed heads of children.

The date and the location of the video remains unknown, however the method of incinerating the victims remains the same throughout Mexico. “Cooking” is a term used to describe the incineration of bodies by cartel members. The murdered victims are hacked into pieces and placed either in clandestine crematoriums or in 55-gallon drums where they are set on fire. The practice of cooking victims not only helps cartels minimize scrutiny but also helps Mexican officials claim that crime continues to decrease since incinerated victims are not counted as murders. According to Mexican officials, without a body, it remains a missing persons case.

Mexico arrests alleged cartel assassin leader in Acapulco

(MY SAN ANTONIO) — Mexican federal forces arrested an alleged leader of a band of assassins in the Pacific coast resort city of Acapulco, while in the state’s mountainous interior 30 armed men kidnapped at least a dozen people, government officials announced.

The government identified the arrested man only as “Benito N” and alleged he was responsible for a significant amount of the bloodshed in the popular beach destination. A statement released late Friday said his arrest was one of the state’s top security priorities.

Local media said the suspect was the head of assassins for the Beltran Lleyva cartel in Acapulco.

In spite of a high security presence, killings are up 5 percent this year over a very bloody 2015 in Acapulco. Authorities say 790 homicides were recorded from January through October.

Also late Friday, Roberto Alvarez, spokesman for security forces in the southern state of Guerrero, said state police were searching for 12 to 14 people kidnapped Thursday night from the township of Ajuchitlan del Progreso.

Witnesses told police that about 30 armed men kidnapped the victims, which included some minors, Alvarez said. Relatives reported already receiving calls demanding ransom for their release. Local residents blamed a group called Los Tequileros, he said.

Mexican mayor arrested after hundreds massacred and cooked in network of ovens, following Breitbart exposé

(BREITBART) — by Ildefonso Ortiz

Mexican authorities have arrested the former mayor of a rural community in the border state of Coahuila in connection with the kidnapping, murder and incineration of hundreds of victims through a network of ovens at the hands of the Los Zetas cartel. The arrest comes after Breitbart Texas exposed not only the horrors of the mass extermination, but also the cover-up and complicity of the Mexican government.

On Thursday morning, Coahuila state authorities arrested Sergio Alonzo Rodriguez, the former mayor of Allende, Coahuila, on the charge of aggravated kidnapping, information provided to Breitbart Texas by the Coahuila government revealed. Rodriguez was the mayor of Allende, Coahuila in March, 2011, when a commando of Los Zetas kidnapped dozens of people who were then murdered and incinerated.

Earlier this year, Breitbart Texas published the results of a three-month investigation into how Los Zetas were able to kidnap, torture, execute and incinerate approximately 300 victims–including women and children–between 2011 and 2013. Approximately 150 of the victims were taken to the Piedras Negras state prison where cartel members used 55-gallon drums to incinerate the human remains.

(BREITBART) — by Ildefonso Ortiz

McALLEN, Texas — A top Mexican businessman with connections to the highest echelons of power in Mexico remains in federal custody in this border city, where he is facing money laundering charges.

Last week, federal agents arrested Luis Carlos “Dragon or Umpire” Castillo Cervantes in connection with a criminal indictment filed under seal in Corpus Christi, Texas. The criminal indictment obtained by Breitbart Texas revealed that from 2006 to November 10, 2014, Castillo Cervantes allegedly took part in money laundering and bank fraud schemes involving Mexican public officials. Authorities are looking to seize $36,259,730 and a 2008 Learjet belonging to the Mexican businessman.

On Tuesday morning, Castillo Cervantes went before U.S. Magistrate Judge Peter Ormsby for his detention hearing. During the hearing, Castillo Cervantes waived his hearing, choosing to remain in federal detention until he has another date in Corpus Christi, where the case resides. Ormsby granted the request and ordered that Castillo Cervantes go back to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.

While in parts of Mexico Castillo Cervantes is known as the “Dragon” for a fleet of road paving machines that he has exclusive contracts to, in the rural town of Anahuac, Tamaulipas, he is known as the “Umpire”.

Mexican cartel ammo shipment seized at Texas border

(BREITBART) — McALLEN, Texas — Federal authorities seized more than 5,900 rounds of ammunition that were destined for a drug cartel in Mexico as criminal organizations continue to stockpile weapons.

The most recent seizure took place at the Hidalgo-Reynosa International Bridge when 26-year-old Marco Antonio Medrano Gutierrez tried to drive a Ford pickup into Mexico, court records obtained by Breitbart Texas revealed.

Agents with Homeland Security Investigations as well as Officers with U.S. Customs and Border Protection had Medrano take his vehicle into a secondary inspection area. As authorities searched the vehicle, Medrano told CBP officers that there were various ammunition rounds hidden in the vehicle. In total, authorities found 5,942 ammunition rounds hidden within the panels of the pickup. Medrano Gutierrez is listed as a Mexican national in court documents, however it remains unclear if he is a legal resident or if he had a tourist visa at the time of his arrest.

On Monday, U.S, Magistrate Judge Peter Ormsby formally notified Medrano of the charges against him and ordered he be held without bond.

Mexico’s ‘avengers’ backed by public sick of crime and lack of punishment

(THE GUARDIAN) — It was still dark when four men boarded the packed commuter bus heading for Mexico City and ordered the passengers to hand over their valuables.

They gathered up mobile phones and wallets, but as they prepared to leave near the town of Toluca, one passenger stood up, drew a pistol and shot the four assailants, killing their leader instantly.

The three injured robbers stumbled off the bus, but the gunman followed them out and shot them dead at the roadside. Then he returned to the bus, handed back the passengers’ belongings and disappeared into the darkness.

Police in Mexico state, which wraps round the country’s capital like a horseshoe, have deployed hundreds of officers in search of the so-called justiciero – or avenger.

But many Mexicans – fed up with crime, corruption and impunity – took to social media to praise the unidentified killer. None of the bus passengers have offered information to police, saying it was too dark to see him clearly.

The case is just the latest of a spate of vigilante killings in Mexico: in southern Tabasco state a taxi driver shot dead two assailants trying to rob him. In the western state of Guanajuato, a witness to the armed robbery of a seafood delivery driver followed and shot at the two suspects fleeing on a motorcycle, injuring one of them, according to local media.

Gema Santamaría, a sociologist at the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico, said that while the country has long been plagued by lynchings of supposed criminals, individual vigilante murders are a relatively new development.

Dead migrants’ corpses overwhelm Texas county

(BREITBART) — The dead bodies of 53 illegal immigrants have been found in one Texas county after crossing the border this year. The remains of the 53, mostly Mexican and Central American nationals, represent an increase over 2015 numbers despite an effort by local, state, and federal law enforcement officials.

The Brooks County Sheriff’s Office informed Breitbart Texas on Thursday night that they had recovered the remains of yet another dead illegal immigrant in the fields of a ranch located roughly 80 miles north of the Mexican border. Brooks County is not a border county but is the location of a Border Patrol checkpoint on one of the main human smuggling routes from to inland cities like Houston, San Antonio, and Dallas. These cities are transportation hubs for the human smuggling networks operated mostly by Mexican drug cartels.

“The surge of illegal immigrants coming up from the border is once again resulting in an increase in deaths,” Brooks County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Benny Martinez told Breitbart Texas in an exclusive interview. “What is happening to these people is truly a humanitarian crisis.”

Martinez, who will become the next sheriff of Brooks County in January, said there has been an increase in law enforcement manpower in the county as the U.S. Border Patrol and Texas Department of Public Safety have both stepped up their efforts. “We have seen more and more apprehensions in the county because of more search efforts by these agencies. Rescues are on the rise but the numbers of people trying to cross around the checkpoint continues to lead to death.”

Mexican police find border tunnel, meth hidden in cheese

(YAHOO) — Mexican prosecutors said Monday that they had found a tunnel in the border city of Tijuana that led toward or into the United States.

The attorney general’s office did not say whether the tunnel actually reached U.S. soil. But it did say the 563-yard (meter) long passage was equipped with ventilation and lighting.

The tunnel also had rails, apparently used to push loads of drugs through.

The tunnel was about three feet wide and four feet tall, and was built about 23 feet (7 meters) under ground level

Prosecutors found over 2 metric tons of marijuana in packages at the house where the tunnel began on the Mexican side.

Also Monday, federal police said they found 4.2 pounds (1.9 kilograms) of methamphetamine hidden in a wheel of cheese at a package-delivery facility in Mexico City.

Mexican cop reportedly busted in Texas smuggling cocaine

(BREITBART) — LAREDO, Texas — A Mexican police officer has been arrested after he allegedly tried to enter the country with more than 30 pounds of cocaine hidden in his vehicle.

The recent arrest took place at the Lincoln Juarez International Bridge in Laredo when 40-year-old Ricardo Octavio Guerrero was questioned about the purpose of his trip by a U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer. The questions came after a police K-9 alerted authorities about the presence of contraband inside hidden compartments in Guerrero’s Mazda.

A detailed search of the vehicle by CBP officers revealed two compartments, one on the passenger and one on the driver’s side. Inside, authorities found 13 packets of a white, powdery substance that was tested and found to be cocaine, U.S. federal court records obtained by Breitbart Texas revealed.

Four days before Guerrero’s arrest, his vehicle went through a similar inspection when he drove south from Houston to Mexico. The inspection took place when authorities found some hidden compartments that were empty. Since Guerrero was not doing anything illegal at that time he was allowed to continue his travel.

An intelligence document from Mexican law enforcement agencies that Breitbart Texas was allowed to inspect revealed that Guerrero had been the top cop in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon from 2012 until September 2015 when he was removed from his post for administrative reasons and then his contract was terminated.

Cartel war continues to dump bodies in Mexican neighborhoods

(BREITBART) — CIUDAD VICTORIA, Tamaulipas — The ongoing war for control of lucrative drug trafficking territories continues to spread terror in this border state as executions and dumped bodies are increasingly commonplace.

Earlier this week, authorities found the bodies of an underage female, a woman, and a man that showed signs of torture prior to execution. The bodies were found in a poor neighborhood off Las Torres Avenue. Military personnel rushed to cordon off the area while investigators documented the crime scene.

The female victims had their hands tied and their heads wrapped in trash bags, while the male victim had his hands tied and his body was wrapped in a blanket. None of the rival factions of the Los Zetas cartel have taken credit for the gruesome murder to date. The gory scene comes days after as Breitbart Texas reported gunmen kidnapped, interrogated, tortured and murdered a woman named Fabiola Serna. The interrogation of Serna was recorded on video and then uploaded to her hacked Facebook account by members of the Grupo Bravo / Vieja Escuela Z.
